Get spooky with us at Boo and Brew!

Boo and Brew is just around the corner! On Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, this annual event will take over Colfax Avenue between Josephine and Colorado Blvd.

The event is two parts – one-part Kids and Family fun and one-part Adult self-led Halloween bar crawl. From 1-4pm, Colfax will come alive with the cutest costumed kiddos, a family-friendly block party, complete with trick-or-treating at more than 20 Colfax businesses, live music, pumpkin decorating, food and drink specials and MORE!

Later that day, Boo n’ Brew welcomes back the adults (or maybe just don’t ever leave?!), for a spooktacular bar/restaurant crawl. Participating businesses will offer the best drink specials in town, live music, costume contests and more.

Stay tuned for a list of participating businesses, event schedule, scavenger hunt scorecard and details coming soon!

2020 Reflections from BBID

Dear Bluebird District Business and Property Owners,

We want to thank you, for continuing to show the Colfax grit and determination that you always have through a trying year. In our many interactions with business and property owners, the Bluebird Business Improvement District (BBID) board members and staff hear the strain and stress of closures, reduced capacity, reduced demand and new burdens to ensure you, your employees and customers are safe. We thank you for all you do to keep pushing on and making the BBID the unique place it is. Your business is a key part of our community and, no matter the size, is a big part of what makes us great.

Check out our 2020 Annual Letter for more on how BBID businesses showed great strength and resilience during a tough year, and how we worked to support them throughout the pandemic.

Over $400,000 in COVID Relief Awarded to District Businesses

Last month, we announced that BBID was awarded $500,000 to support our district businesses. We’re excited to report that we’ve given out $407,074 in COVID Relief Grants to district businesses (pictured with Milkroll Creamery), with more going out this month.

These grants are for lost revenue since the COVID-19 crisis and purchases for COVID mitigation measures like gas heat lamps, canopies as well as PPE.

We are happy to be able to financially support our businesses. You can continue to support and thank them for their strength and hard work by buying gift cards, shopping for holiday gifts, getting takeout and visiting our establishments (don’t forget your mask!).

Care Packages for Bluebird Businesses

Over the weekend, we passed out care packages to our local Bluebird District businesses. Bags included gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer from IoVia. A small token of thanks for continuing to safely serve the community and providing a sense of normalcy during these uncertain times.
